Refurbishment plans for Bradford community hospital

by Chris Cunniff

Ilkley’s Coronation Hospital is set for a major revamp thanks to investment from NHS Property Services.

Coronation Hospital is owned and managed by NHS Property Services and is situated in the small spa town of Ilkley in the City of Bradford. The hospital is the base for a variety of NHS community services, including rehabilitation, physiotherapy, musculoskeletal outpatients and sexual health.

Mike Dyson, Capital Investment Manager for NHS Property Services said: “We are pleased to be investing £350,000 into the renovation of Coronation Hospital and are delighted to be working with local NHS partners to improve this facility for the benefit of the local community.

“The works are due to start in February and are expected to last three months. All work will be carried out in isolated phases to ensure services are not disrupted enabling the hospital building to remain operational throughout.”

Renovations at the hospital will include a programme of work to replace all carpets with vinyl flooring and the upgrading of the site’s lighting and heating systems. Further internal and external improvements will ensure the site is a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff and visitors.
