Plans to turn a vacant and derelict hospital site in Kent into vital new homes have taken a step forward.

An application seeking outline planning permission to redevelop a 0.35-hectare section of the former Gravesend and North Kent Hospital site, near the centre of Gravesend, with a mixed-use development have been recommended for approval. The site is known locally as ‘M-block’.

Members of Gravesham Borough Council’s Regulatory Board will meet on 11 January 2017 to determine the application, submitted by site owner NHS Property Services.

The application has been recommended for approval by a council planning officer and you can read the report being considered by the committee here.
