South West London hospital receives positive review from local patients

The cleanliness, condition and environment of Queen Mary’s Hospital, Roehampton has been commended by patients and local people following a recent assessment.

Owner of the South West London hospital, NHS Property Services, also coordinates facilities services at the site via contractor Sodexo, who manage all Hard and Soft FM services, including; catering and cleaning services which have scored exceptionally on the recent Patient-led assessments of the care environment (PLACE).

PLACE see local people go into hospitals as part of teams to assess how the environment supports patient’s privacy and dignity, food, cleanliness and general building maintenance.

Jurri Christiaans, PFI Contract Manager at NHS Property Services, said: “Well done to everyone involved in ensuring that good PLACE scores at Queen Mary’s Hospital continue to be achieved. 2016 scores for food (90.84%) and cleanliness (98.3%) show a marked improvement against 2015 and the total scores are above national average.

“Good environments matter. Every NHS patient should be cared for with compassion and dignity in a clean, safe environment and assessments like PLACE allow us to ensure we continue to provide good facilities management services to our customers and our patients.”
