Ian Ellis

Chair of NHS Property Services

Ian Ellis became chair of NHS Property Services in 2016, bringing a wealth of property services expertise to our board. His 44-year career in real estate includes leadership roles at some of the UK’s most successful real estate and FM services organisations.

In the 1990s, Ian was an equity partner and Head of Investment Management at Richard Ellis, now CBRE. In 1998 he was part of the founding team of Trillium, the UK’s first integrated real estate, construction and facilities management business. When Land Securities acquired Trillium, Ian then became Chief Executive of Land Securities Trillium, and a main board director of Land Securities plc. He remained with Trillium when it was acquired by Telereal in 2009 to be Executive Chair of the combined company, Telereal Trillium, until 2014.

During his career Ian has been involved in major estates transformation programmes supporting business change and delivering improved value from property and services.

While steering the direction of NHS Property Services, Ian is still an active leader in the wider real estate industry. He is currently Chair of Arcus Solutions and an Independent Director of Portman Settled Estates, as well as the chair of Notting Hill Genesis housing association.
