Chair

Assuming the role of Chair on 22nd March 2021, Jane takes over the position from Ian Ellis who has been the Chair since 2016.

Jane has over 30 years of experience in the property and government sectors. Alongside her current role at The University of Essex she is also a Non-Executive Director at the Government Property Agency. Her experience at a senior executive level spans global banking, investment management and property management in the UK and overseas. She has also been on the Board of Trustees at the Institute of Cancer Research. Throughout her career she has been actively involved in managing organisational change, talent development and environmental sustainability.

In her new role, Jane will work closely with the Department of Health and Social Care to steer the direction of NHSPS, collaborating with customers, integrated care systems and local councils as the NHS estate evolves to ensure healthcare facilities meet the needs of the future in a sustainable manner. Key areas of focus will include building on existing work around community-based care and social prescribing sites, as well as supporting the NHS in achieving their goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2040.
