Karina has 15 years’ experience in primary and community estate management and development including strategy for and delivery of office, general practice and community hospital schemes.

In her last role at NHS Property Services (NHSPS), Karina led optimisation activities linked to the existing portfolio for North West, North-East & Yorkshire. This focussed on effective utilisation of space, development of new space and identifying opportunities for disposal.

With this new Regional Partnership Director role she will deepen this relationship in the North East and Yorkshire, working with NHSE/I Regional Directors and Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) to better understand their needs, challenges and opportunities. With this perspective, she will take a key role in the optimisation of the estate in this region, and co-ordinate wider NHSPS teams to support on estate strategies and project delivery.

Key achievements

• PCT Lead - Richardson Community Hospital and Seaham Primary Care Centre LIFT schemes
• Member of the Primary Care Premises Expert Advisory Group (2013 Premises Directions and Principles of Best Practice for development in Primary Care)
• Delivery of Programmes of General Practice and Primary Care Hub developments in County Durham (£31m) and Durham Dales
• Led the transition of a GP out of hours service in Durham and operationally managed the service until permanent management arrangements were in place.
• And in her last role at NHSPS, she completed Estates Strategies (Primary Care, Mental health, CCG & ICS), Utilisation Strategies (Altrincham) and Portfolio Investment Strategy (Manchester CCG)
