Senior Finance Business Partner - London 

NHS Property Services is a Best in Class Estates and Facilities Management provider to the NHS. We provide our services to over 4000 properties and 7000 tenants in the UK in our £3.5 Billion portfolio.
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Finance Business Partner on a permanent basis to be based in our Gresham Street hub in Central London.
The Role:
Reporting into the Head of Property and Capital Finance, the successful incumbent will hold the following role and responsibilities:
• Deliver a high-quality finance partnering function to Asset Management, covering all financial aspects of the company’s property portfolio.
• Responsible for the Asset Management month end and reporting function nationally.
• Develop suite of reporting and dashboards to support operational decision making and capture key financial measures.
• Support the Head of Property and Capital Finance in the development and implementation of national policy to support operational activity, accounting treatment and reporting to the Department of Health.
• Lead the development and critical challenge of the national elements of the company planning cycle(Budgets and Forecasts).
• Ensure adequate support is provided in the mentoring and development of direct reports.
Key responsibilities of the role:
Organisational, Policy & Planning Responsibilities
• Responsible for monthly financial performance monitoring to focus on key areas of the business
• Review of Asset Management transaction decisions for financial rigour, profitability and ensure all options have been considered and analysed
• Submit monthly commentary around Asset Management activity working in conjunction with budget holders and Finance stakeholders
• Review performance of consolidated profit centres against budget for all Asset Management income and cost elements
• Support the delivery of overheads reporting to the Senior Management Team
• Provide ad hoc data and analysis for key stakeholders when required
• Assist the Head of Property and Capital Finance in developing and implementing a long term asset forecasting model, to include asset acquisitions, lease transfers and disposals
• Review property profitability to ensure the company fully recovers property costs through billing Analytical & Judgemental
• The post holder will be required to understand the Charging Policy and its application to the Asset Management portfolio. Interpretation will be required for a number of different scenarios and the financial application of the policy will need to be communicated to key stakeholders in the business
• All proposed Asset Management activity will require a financial appraisal to identify and highlight key financial risks, value for money and any areas of concern. Where funding is a limited resource you will be working with the Asset Management team to identify what activity should proceed on a financial return basis
• To develop, implement and maintain robust and accurate disposal, acquisition and asset management activity cash flow forecasts
• Advise Asset Managers and Disposal leads on the financial implications of property disposals
 
Communication & Relationships
• The post holder will communicate financial data to groups of senior managers and external stakeholders, advising on financial issues to non- financial managers. The post holder will be able to communicate this in such a way as it is understood clearly by all parties.
• The role is responsible for advising budget holders on the financial implications of property management activity, investments and property disposals, accurately conveying an understanding of consequences, often providing this information to a large audience including a majority of non-finance managers.

To be considered for the role, you will need to demonstrate to have the following:
• ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification with minimum of 2 years post qualified experience
• Understanding of Government Accounting and Budgeting Framework
• Minimum of 12 months’ line management experience
• Microsoft Dynamics NAV experience 
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in Audit or Professional Services– experience of investigation and analysis of financial issues and evidence of detailed and precise report writing
• Minimum of 18 months’ experience in a large national commercial property (landlord) and FM services business
• Demonstrable examples of advanced understanding of financial management and financial accounting including implementation of IFRS 16
• Demonstrable examples of robust understanding of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and the property management database Horizon and the ability to extract, interpret and manipulate information from them
• Demonstrable experience of budgeting, forecasting and month end reporting
• Demonstrable examples of being an advanced user of Excel (including Power Query/Pivot)
• Confident approach, hardworking and committed
• Ability to manage time effectively, prioritising and delivering to agreed deadlines
  
Compensation: £58,000 - £61,000 (DOE), £3,000 car allowance, 10% bonus (Performance related) and benefits
