Local MP attends opening of new flexible health spaces at Werrington Health Centre
Peterborough MP, Paul Bristow has visited a health centre in his constituency offering completely flexible rooms to rent for a number of healthcare purposes.
Werrington Health Centre opened a number of rooms that can be rented flexibly under NHS Open Space, a new service from NHS Property Services which expanded to the site in August.
NHS Open Space seeks to make the best out of vacant space in NHSPS buildings by allowing small businesses, community groups and healthcare providers alike to use both clinical and non-clinical rooms on an hourly, daily or weekly basis. Rates are budget-friendly and any profits made on the scheme are entirely re-directed for investment in the NHS estate.
Mr Bristow, a member of the parliamentary Health and Social Care Select Committee was taken on a tour of the rooms available at Werrington Health Centre to see the benefits that these spaces present to the local community. Nationally, NHS Open Space has provided increased access to health and wellbeing services, created high quality spaces for communities to use, and have made the most of the NHS estate.
