Customer feedback

"I want to share our sincere appreciation for all of the diligent work NHSPS colleagues have undertaken to set up the Vaccination Centre at Scarborough Rugby Club this week.  This was carried out with patience and a positive commitment which has made everyone involved feel part of the same team committed to the Vaccination Programme."

Martin Ford, Consultant for Scarborough Primary Care Network

Challenge

Upon the announcement of the national vaccination roll out, Scarborough Primary Care Network (PCN) approached NHSPS to support the mobilisation of vaccination sites across the region.

Scarborough Rugby Club was identified as a potential site, and we were asked to set it up in the space of 7 working days.

Solution

Led by Facilities Management, the team worked throughout the week and over the weekend to turn this site around. We provided plans of the area following the PCN's requirements, organising for the site to accommodate 10 vaccination bays as well as a booking in desk, GP station, emergency bay, staff areas and the vaccine fridges (including UPS by our in-house engineers).

The team also supported the PCN with the patient flow, access, egress points and the designated holding area for patient observation, assisting with the set up of furniture and screening.

Impact

In just over a week we had completed the set up of this vaccination hub that will now contribute to the vaccine roll out programme - thousands of patients are now using the site. This will provide safe and compliant space for staff and patients alike, and we're delighted to have received such good feedback from our NHS partners.
