Meet the NHS Open Space team

We have a brilliant team behind NHS Open Space, each bringing a unique set of skills to the programme to improve your experience.

This week, we meet Kian Chambers, our Training Manager for NHS Open Space as he speaks on his role within the team and how the programme is helping the NHS.

What's your role in the NHS Open Space team?
I manage all the training elements for NHS Open Space, so our customers know exactly how to use the service so they can get the most out of it and use it more and more.

What does an average day for you look like?
When running a training program, a typical day would be running a training session in the morning and one in the afternoon, and being on hand for any customer questions. I also create training content such as ‘How to’ guides and videos, and improve and update my training slides based on customer feedback.

What experience do you bring to the team?
I had previously spent 5 years in the motor trade, training different organisations in sales and service on how to get the most out of their roles. With the service teams, I would train them on the systems they would need to use, which has helped me transfer to this role to train our customers how to use the NHS Open Space system.

What inspires you?
Simplicity! I have always tried to make my training simple and easy to understand. There is no need to make things more complicated than they are. Even the most complicated things can be broken down and explained simply in ways everyone can understand. I kind of live by that in my home and work life.

How would you describe your NHS Open Space colleagues in three words? Innovative, hard-working and fun!
