NHS Open Space set to further grow its portfolio

NHS Open Space, developed by NHS Property Services, enables the flexible booking of sessional space across the NHS estate. Services can hire clinical and non-clinical spaces – ranging from examination rooms to offices – as and when they need it.

The NHS Open Space community has reached over 264,300 bookings through the platform since May 2019, accounting for over 1,850,447 hours of vital service delivery to patients and communities.

Welcoming new services into our sites, the next phase of properties joining in November will continue to provide greater flexibility and choice, while making much more efficient use of the estate and minimising vacant or underused space.

Chris King, Principal Strategic Asset Manager at NHS Property Services, explores the NHS Open Space platform's successes and hopes for the future. He said: "With this expansion we hope to further grow our community of over 4,870 unique users, using our flexible booking system to make better use of NHS spaces and offer communities a wider range of services from their local NHS hubs."
