NHS Open Space adds to booking platform across England

NHS Open Space, a service launched by NHS Property Services (NHSPS), has expanded its flexible offering across the UK. The expansion will help in making better use of NHS spaces and offer communities a wider range of services from their local NHS hubs.

You can now choose from 1,150+ rooms across 200 sites nationwide - all available to book on a flexible, pay-as-you-go basis.

The expansion will bring more choice to health and wellbeing providers looking for alternative and flexible ways to deliver services in their community. In addition, small business owners and community groups can use these spaces, allowing them to book rooms as and when they need it, easing pressure on finances. New services will join a community of over 2,100 users who have so far made 205,448+ bookings.

"We have seen more than 1,323,844 hours of care provided to patients across England with the NHS Open Space platform, showing just how vital a range of services are to local communities. From counselling and physiotherapy to vaccine administration, we hope to enable excellent patient care and deliver on the Long-Term Plan through our spaces,” said Christopher King, Principal Strategic Asset Manager at NHSPS.

The programme is set to continue to grow throughout the year, with the overarching aim of maximising use of NHS buildings, supporting the NHS Long-Term Plan ambitions of using technology to improve patient care, future-proof the NHS, and offering more services in local community settings.
