NHSPS complete refurbishment at Falmouth Hospital
NHSPS, in collaboration with Cornwall FT have recently completed a major refurbishment of Falmouth Hospital. The long-term maintenance and external redecoration works have greatly improved the facility for both patients and clinicians.
Last week, the MP for Truro and Falmouth, Cherilyn Mackrory visited the hospital to see the results of the extensive renovation works and praised the results of the project, "I am thrilled to see the completion of the refurbishment works at Falmouth Hospital. The improved facility will greatly benefit the patients and clinicians who use it, and I am particularly impressed with the close working relationship between NHS Property Services and the Cornwall Partnership Foundation Trust. This project is a great example of how investment in our healthcare infrastructure can make a real difference in the community."
The completion of the renovation works at Falmouth Hospital is a major accomplishment, especially considering the challenges posed by both winter weather and delays caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these obstacles, the 16-week program was completed on schedule and within budget in 2022.
The renovation project, which cost half a million pounds, has not only improved the aesthetic of the building, but it has also ensured the safety and preservation of the structure for the future benefit of Falmouth's residents. This upgrade has created a comfortable and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors alike. The hospital management and staff commended the support of the community and the efforts of the construction team to complete the project during these challenging times. The project included repairs to the drainage systems as well as the replacement of defective windows and doors making the hospital more energy efficient. The hospital is now fully operational and ready to provide the best care for the community.
