Social prescribing day 2023: A look back at social prescribing in 2022
The past year has been a time of significant change and growth for social prescribing across the NHS, and, at NHS Property Services, we’ve been continuing to support these developments. From increasing access to social prescribing schemes to working with local partners to develop innovative new spaces, colleagues have been working hard to improve the health and wellbeing of communities across the UK.
Today is national social prescribing day, and we are proud to say we’ve now opened 75 social prescribing sites, from small green spaces to large, multi-use hubs. We work closely with these sites to make sure they can continue to grow their services, reach more people, and improve the health and wellbeing of communities all across the country.
Our social prescribing sites are making a real difference to people, and that wouldn’t be possible without the commitment and support from our colleagues in all areas of the business. While we want to spend social prescribing day celebrating all our partners working at our hubs and green spaces, we also want to say a big thank you to our colleagues who have helped to create these spaces.
Looking ahead to the future, NHS Property Services is committed to building on these successes and continuing to promote social prescribing as a key part of the NHS's broader strategy for reducing health inequalities.
