Freedom to speak up

by Jeremy Peters

Creating a culture in which people feel free to speak up if they suspect that behaviours around them might be unsafe or inappropriate is a shared responsibility for everyone working at NHS Property Services.

To support this, the company has committed at Board level to the Freedom to Speak Up initiative, which makes it easier and clearer for people to raise issues and concerns. This initiative has been launched following a review published by Sir Robert Francis QC in February 2015, which recommended creating a more open and honest reporting culture across the NHS.
