One such solution is NHS Open Space, the first nationwide room booking solution for the NHS estate. NHS Open Space, developed by NHS Property Services (NHSPS), enables the flexible booking of NHS space across the NHS estate, offering services both clinical and non-clinical spaces – ranging from examination rooms to offices – as and when they need it.

Making the NHS estate more flexible with NHS Open Space

NHS Open Space supports health, wellbeing, and community services looking for alternative and flexible ways to deliver services in their community by using pay-as-you-go NHS spaces nationwide.

The spaces available range from clinical space and activity rooms, to meeting rooms and offices. This means more choice and flexibility for services to plan ahead, and offers a cost-effective solution to their property needs.

As NHS Open Space grows and welcomes new spaces nationwide, a wider range of services can use our flexible booking system to expand, work across multiple locations, and tackle the elective care backlog – optimising the NHS estate to deliver excellent patient care.

Since launching our full service in 2019 we have grown the NHS Open Space community, welcoming users spanning NHS, private and community services, and reached over 264,300 bookings that account for over 1,850,447 hours of vital service delivery.

Where can you find us?

We have significantly expanded our service, bringing the portfolio from 20 to 200 properties and spanning 1,120 rooms nationwide. We plan to further expand across the NHS Property Services portfolio in the coming year, so watch this space!
