Inclusion Festival 2025: Celebrating connection and community

Launched during National Inclusion Week, our first-ever Inclusion Festival brings colleagues together to celebrate diversity, wellbeing and community impact, through shared stories, events and conversations that build a more inclusive workplace and stronger connections across our communities.

Head of Social Impact

Since forming the Social Impact team at NHSPS in 2023, we’ve been working to tackle social and health inequalities within and outside the organisation. We do this through various workstreams including community partnerships, wellbeing, culture and inclusion, accessibility and social prescribing.

In 2024/25, we’ve achieved so much. And this is just a highlight from each area:

  • Social Prescribing – We’ve developed 15 new sites with a customer satisfaction score of 9.5/10.

  • Social & Health Inequalities – Over 90,000 patients positively benefited, with 75% of capital funds directed to deprived areas.

  • Community Partnerships – 20% of colleagues spent time volunteering, and a new fund was launched to support 27 charities and projects in 2025/26.

  • Workforce Diversity – We ranked in the top 5% for diversity and inclusion, with a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of +55, and new inclusion learning pathways on key diversity topics.

  • Health, Safety & Wellbeing – We increased our wellbeing score to 8.6, trained over 40 colleagues to become Mental Health First Aiders and completed 95% of workplace adjustments within 4 weeks.

  • Environmental and Community Impact – Our Health Places and NHS Open Space programmes impacted 3.6 million patients. Delivering an extra 67,500 GP hours and 1.1 million consultation hours.

I’m so proud of our progress over the years, but we’re ready to take it to the next level. To do that, we’ve brought all of our workstreams together for our first-ever Inclusion Festival this National Inclusion Week.

This year’s festival is all about recognising that inclusion is something we build together, every day. Through daily actions, open conversations and our choices.

So from the 15th to 26th September, we’re hosting a range of events and sharing stories that spark connection and celebrate diversity.

Here are just a few highlights:

  • Cultural and Wellbeing Sessions
These interactive workshops and resources are designed to help us open up conversations around mental wellbeing and psychological safety, creating space for honest dialogue and mutual support.

  • Diversity and Cultural Celebration
Our celebration events, like the International homemade Food and Drink Charity fundraising event brought people together in joyful, meaningful ways. To share food and stories from diverse cultures and celebrate each other.

  • Accessibility and Workplace Adjustments
We’ve shared updated resources and awareness sessions to help colleagues better understand and advocate for inclusive working environments.

  • Community Partnerships and Volunteering
We’ve been spotlighting our incredible community partners and revisiting the fundraising and volunteering events our colleagues have completed this year so far. Including a 40 mile walk which raised over £2000, a sports day in the rain and a dragon boat race in the middle of a storm.

  • Storytelling and Data for Inclusion
Through our #TellUsMore campaign, we’ve explored how data can help shape a more inclusive future for everyone. Colleagues have shared stories about why sharing their data matters to them across our internal channels and how it's helping shape our working culture.

As we look ahead, we’re proud to continue building a workplace where everyone feels seen, valued, and connected. Because inclusion isn’t just a moment, it’s a movement.

"I chose to share my data around neurodiversity with the organisation because, for the first time, it felt like I could breathe. For years, I carried a quiet shame, especially around my ADHD, because people often told me I was “too much” and that made me shrink myself.
But sharing changed everything. It didn’t just lift the weight - it helped me see where I needed support and gave me the confidence to ask for it.”

Kelly Owbridge-Tasker

Policy & Process Manager

“I choose to share my data because I believe it helps create a more inclusive and supportive workplace.”

Suzy Goddard

Learning & Development Advisor

“As a brown, neurodivergent woman, I’ve often found myself navigating spaces that weren’t necessarily designed with people like me in mind. When I first filled out my personal data, I wasn’t sure it would make much of a difference. But over time, I realised it helped me feel more understood.

It gave me a way to express how I work best and what kind of support helps me thrive. It wasn’t about making a big statement - just about being honest and open. And that openness helped me feel more comfortable, more myself.”

Daniela Sanchez

Social Impact Coordinator

“I choose to share my diversity data because it helps create a workplace where everyone’s identity and experiences are seen and respected. I know I hold certain privileges whether through my role, background, or opportunities and I want to use that to support others who may not always feel represented.

Sharing this data isn’t just about numbers; it’s about helping the organisation understand who we are so it can close gaps.” -
