Covid-19: Town Planning Update - July 2020

Our Town Planning team has prepared a guidance note on some recent amendments to the Town and Country Planning Regulations 2020.

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has introduced changes to the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 through the Town and Country Planning (Permitted Development and Miscellaneous Amendments) (England) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2020.

This note focuses on two aspects of the amendments introduced, namely the changes to office to residential prior approval applications and the introduction of permitted development rights for new homes on detached blocks of flats.
