Property management

We have a large national team of experienced property managers responsible for managing all day to day aspects of our customers’ property occupations in your local region. We offer a strong on-the-ground support system for our customers to make informed occupancy decisions and get the most out of their properties.

They are supported by five national teams: Leasing, Lease Events, Policy and Portfolio, Data Performance and Vacant Space. Their responsibilities range from regularising occupation agreements, to strategically managing lease events, to driving best property management practice across our estate – all with the aim of supporting our customers to deliver excellent patient care.

Occupation agreements for NHS properties

A key part of our role as NHS estates manager is to agree and record the basis on which our customers occupy buildings, building a transparent and accessible approach to occupancy so we can best support our customers. Previously, many customers occupied space on an informal basis, which made it difficult to charge accurately or identify underused space that could be repurposed. By establishing occupancy agreements, we can make sure customers only occupy and pay for the space they need and can work with them to identify ways to improve our services.

We work locally with customers to put in place the most effective and efficient agreements to align with their needs and have developed a new range of occupancy options with the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England/Improvement.

Get in touch with your local Property Manager or our Customer Support Centre to discuss your options.

Let us know about changes to your occupation

Our teams are responsible for ensuring that we collect accurate data about our portfolio. This allows us to provide the strategic property expertise our customers need to plan their estate, reduce their operating costs, accurately allocate costs and ensure the space they occupy is fit for purpose.

If you are planning to change how you use the space you occupy, or have identified unused or vacant space in your building, please get in touch.
