Primary Care Conference 2019

We present with Vale of York CCG on our collaboration to optimise the estate

On 22nd May we attended the Primary Care Conference 2019, run by Salford Professional Development at the University of Salford.

This event invited a range of key healthcare stakeholders to explore how to improve health pathways through innovation, with speakers sharing examples of plans to reduce workload, expand the workforce and showcase how investment in technology and estates will improve patient care and access.

Our Principal Portfolio Optimisation Manager, Karina Dare, co-presented with Stephanie Porter, the Associate Director of Primary Care at Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). The topic was "doing more with less - options for primary care premises with limited capital", and explored how our partnership and collaboration had developed and optimised the NHS estate in this region.

Topics up for discussion included recycling capital, using technology to reduce face to face contact, identifying key sites for future development, and network strategies for Primary Care Networks, with in depth case studies throughout. We also highlighted our recent report on Technology and the Estate to look ahead at how we might continue to work with each other in the future.

It was fantastic to share such a productive relationship, and learn from the other presenters on the day on how we can all better one with one another to support and develop the NHS.
