Transforming the NHS estate
Much of the primary care estate is in poor condition, with many sites requiring significant and costly refurbishment or reconfiguration to remain safe and suitable for modern patient care. In addition to this, many of our sites have further potential for increased occupation from both health services and other uses such as housing, which we help to unlock to build healthier communities.
Through strategic asset management we identify innovative opportunities to increase the value of the assets we own and manage, reimagining sites to help the NHS get the most from its estate – financially and socially. Our clear goal is always to generate maximum value from the sale and development of NHS land, delivering new healthcare environments for excellent patient care and generating income to reinvest in the estate. Through this we support the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan, adapting the estate to meet evolving healthcare and community needs.
