NHS Open Space expands to a new London site

The new Orpington Health and Wellbeing Centre in Bromley, London, opened its doors to patients on 16th September, and has now joined NHS Open Space to open access to local health and wellbeing services.

The new Orpington Health and Wellbeing Centre in Bromley, London, opened its doors to patients on 16th September, providing a new home to the Knoll Medical Practice and a range of other community clinics in modern and fit for purpose premises.

The centre also recently joined NHS Open Space, an exciting new offering from NHS Property Services that allows the hiring of both clinical and non-clinical space on a sessional and pay-as-you-go basis. Services have a guarantee of quality on-site experience, with rooms ready to go and reception staff to provide access. Bookings can be made on our simple online platform (www.openspace.nhs.uk).

Orpington Health and Wellbeing Centre is a fantastic addition to the NHS Open Space portfolio, joining our existing 20 sites and diverse community of 350 users around the country. These services have so far made 13,400 bookings since May 2019, ranging from mental health support, to Diabetes treatment and community services. Orpington offers a range of state-of-the-art spaces to book and will help to further deliver on our ambition of expanding community access to health and wellbeing services (and beyond) via NHS buildings.

Mark Cheung, One Bromley Programme Director and Deputy Managing Director Bromley CCG stated that after “working long and hard with our partners, patients and staff to deliver the new Orpington Health and Wellbeing Centre, we are delighted to now join the NHS Open Space programme. This will open up our brand-new sessional space to a range of health and wellbeing providers, meaning we can offer Orpington residents more services from this local facility and reducing the need to go hospital or other sites.”

More information on the centre itself can be found here, and services interested in booking spaces in the new centre can now find it online at the NHS Open Space website.

Beyond this new addition, NHS Property Services are planning to expand NHS Open Space to more sites in its portfolio from early 2020, so watch this space for more information.
