Helping our colleagues get the most out of their career with Careers Month

On 6th November, we officially kicked off our Careers Month at NHS Property Services (NHSPS). Over the month, we held a range of sessions to help our colleagues get the most out of their careers.

We started the month off with a fantastic session from Amazing If focusing on building career confidence, followed by an insightful panel discussion with some of our Executive Team who shared their career journeys and talked about some of the challenges they've faced with their career and confidence.

During the second week, we shone a spotlight on each function within NHSPS. Colleagues from different roles shared their unique and squiggly career stories, providing valuable insight for those interested in exploring a particular function.

The third week was all about personal growth, featuring interactive webinars on topics such as building a personal brand, enhancing emotional intelligence, optimising professional profiles, and enhancing their CV writing and interview skills.

In the third week, we were also excited to host a range of wellbeing sessions and "career clinics." These sessions aimed to foster open and honest conversations among colleagues about their aspirations and how to achieve them and any challenges they may be facing.

In the final week, we held sessions to help our managers to support their teams career development from how and when to have career conversations to how to spot potential talent within their teams.

Our focus at NHSPS is to get, grow and keep great people at every level. We encourage our colleagues to expand their skills and knowledge to drive their careers, and reach their full potential. That's why this month, we ran sessions for  all colleagues on everything from internal career support to learning more about opportunities in our functions.
