NHSPS wins 'In-house Planning Team of the Year'

The RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence "celebrate outstanding plans, projects and people that demonstrate the power of planning. These awards continue to recognise and reward the brightest talent in the profession; the most outstanding plans, projects and people helping to transform economies, environments, and communities," RTPI, 2022. We are delighted to win such a prestigious award.

An established in-house team of twelve planning professionals; NHS Property Services has the only dedicated in-house Town Planning team in the NHS. 

The team covers all aspects of spatial planning including preparing and submitting applications, proactive monitoring of planning policy, supporting strategic site promotions, reviewing financial viability assessments, and securing developer contributions. We explore the practical and strategic aspects of each project alongside exploring commercial potential, prioritising healthcare outcomes across all, and guide developments from conception to completion.

Our in-house approach ensures that we work in close contact with wider NHS bodies and stakeholders to optimise the NHS estate and deliver positive outcomes for patients. This ensures we centre the goals of the NHS in all our decision making and provide a unique service to NHS staff and projects.

The team makes sure that the decisions made in regard to estate management effectively represent the wider aims of the NHS, supporting our NHS colleagues to fully understand and leverage the town planning system so we can continue to deliver high quality healthcare environments.

We seek to ensure that all our projects, from minor applications to large scale redevelopment proposals, reflect the key aspiration to ensure the ongoing funding and successful operation of the NHS.
