Acton Gardens Health Centre

Funding has been secured to develop a brand new health centre at Acton Gardens, providing a new health facility in a rapidly growing London borough.

Acton Gardens will receive an entirely new Health Centre after local partners have secured £3.5 million of NHS funding.

Partners on the project, North West London Clinical Commissioning Group (NWLCCG), NHS Property Services (NHSPS) and the two GP practices, both called the Chiswick Family Practice, have worked together to develop a business case to acquire the property and to conduct a full scale refurbishment on it.

The acquisition of the site is designed to provide Acton Green with a more modern, fit for purpose health facility that will enable both of the occupying practices to expand their patient lists, alongside local population increases. The co-location of these two practices will also enable more joined-up care, providing a better patient experience.

Construction works to adapt the site for healthcare use have already begun and will be completed in January 2022. Works will consist of the creation of nine new clinical rooms, an installation of a lift to the first floor, modern reception areas and staff welfare facilities. The partners will also include features to encourage more modern ways of working such as video consultations.

Dhiren Ganesh, Senior Portfolio Optimisation Manager (London Region) at NHS Property Services said: “We are delighted to see this funding being allocated to such an important project, and it has been fantastic to support the other project partners in securing this capital. We believe this project will provide a high quality environment for patients to receive care in and staff to work in.”
